Word of the week

Topical 🌱

pronounced [top-i-coal]

Most cannabis/CBD topicals are infused with cannabis cannabinoids and applied directly to the skin (transdermal).

Topicals can consist of:
🟢 lotions and creams
🟢 balms and salves
🟢 oils and ointments
🟢 patches

Topicals are great because they offer fast-acting localized relief from inflammation, soreness and pain. Because topicals are absorbed through the skin, they are non-intoxicating and won’t actually get you high. So if you are using a topical with THC, it will not induce that same ‘high’ from smoking – an added benefit for those skeptical of using cannabis. 🌱

Cannabis-infused topicals work by binding to cannabinoid receptors. These receptors are found throughout the body (part of our endocannabinoid system) and are activated by our body’s naturally-occurring endocannabinoids or by cannabinoids from using cannabis products.

Topicals are used for:
✳️ localized pain relief
✳️ muscle soreness
✳️ tension
✳️ inflammation
✳️ cramping
✳️ headaches
✳️ and more

Different topicals have different benefits depending on how they are processed and the ingredients used, so I encourage you to explore various products to see what works best for you!
