Word of the week

tincture 🌱

pronounced [tink-sure]

A tincture is when a medicine (cannabis/CBD) is dissolved or infused into a liquid solvent. This solvent may be food-grade high-proof alcohol, vinegar, glycerin, CO2, ethanol or an alcohol-based mixture. Cannabis/CBD material is saturated into a liquid solvent and heated slowly for a certain amount of time. The solvent burns off, leaving a cannabis/CBD liquid substance. Many companies will add other ingredients, like natural flavorings or essential oils, for a better taste.

Tinctures are normally consumed orally, with drops placed under the tongue for maximum, rapid absorption; however, tinctures may also be applied topically to the skin.

A few things to note:
💥The higher the alcohol content, the better it will dissolve cannabis resin
💥Decarbing cannabis prior to infusing will increase potency.
💥Sometimes referred to as “Green Dragon”
💥CBD tinctures and CBD oils are not the same thing
